Bridging research and
real-world clinical practice

Over the past two decades, extensive research has established that Multiple Sclerosis should no longer be considered a barrier to family planning. This has encouraged a growing number of women with MS to consider motherhood — while simultaneously increasing the complexity of reproductive counselling, as earlier and broader use of DMTs and the growing role of assisted reproductive techniques reshape the clinical landscape.

This Masterclass was conceived to address the rising demand for practical, evidence-based guidance on family planning in MS. It is specifically designed to answer the most frequently encountered clinical questions faced by neurologists in daily practice, spanning DMT management from preconception to the postpartum period, infection prevention, breastfeeding, and the recognition and treatment of mood disturbances.

Building on the MS experience, the Masterclass adopts a translational approach extending to Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorders (NMOSD), MOG antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), autoimmune encephalitides, and Myasthenia Gravis — conditions where high-efficacy targeted therapies have introduced complex reproductive considerations requiring structured, multidisciplinary management.

What you will gain

01

Acquire knowledge regarding the immunology of pregnancy in treated and untreated women with MS and autoimmune neurological diseases

02

Define clinical, radiological and emerging molecular indicators for MS disease activity monitoring during pregnancy and postpartum

03

Optimize preconception counseling and pregnancy and postpartum management in women with NMOSD, MOGAD, autoimmune encephalitis and MG

04

Promote the multidisciplinary, structured ‘MS Pregnancy Unit’ model across centers
